WhatsApp is adding more modifications with the release of a AI-powered chat wallpaper generator. With this new feature, people may make their own chat background using simple text prompts, which makes chats more fun and personal.

The feature was initially accessible in WhatsApp for iOS version 25.19.75 and is gradually being rolled out to more users through stable updates. It is also available to beta testers on Android. As spotted by WABetaInfo, the new option appears under “Settings”.To access the new feature, users need to go to Settings, then tap on Chats, followed by Default chat theme, and finally select Chat theme, where they will find the “Create with AI” option to generate custom wallpapers.

Once activated, users just type a prompt and WhatsApp generates several wallpaper options.Meta’s AI image generator powers this feature, allowing users to swipe through choices, request edits via a “Make Changes” button, and adjust brightness for dark mode compatibility.

Along with AI backgrounds, WhatsApp is working on a threaded reply system to improve conversation clarity. The upcoming feature will allow users to view replies in a structured, organized manner, making it easier to track conversations in both group and personal chats.Similar to Apple's iMessage threads, this feature is scheduled to be available to beta users on both Android and iOS soon.

WhatsApp's latest enhancements combine AI innovation with improved conversation management, with the goal of making messaging more personalized and easier to follow for millions of users worldwide.
