The company's largest developer conference of the year, Google I/O, is almost arriving. The event, which is scheduled for May 20-21 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, is expected to include interesting announcements from throughout Google's ecosystem, including Android, Chrome, Search, YouTube, and its AI platform, Gemini.
AI and Gemini Take Center Stage
This year's attention will be on artificial intelligence. Google is planning updates to its Gemini family of AI models, with hints of a new Gemini Ultra, the most advanced version yet.Besides it, Google could add additional subscription tiers — Premium Plus and Premium Pro, expanding beyond the current $20/month Gemini Advanced plan. Android 16 & The Android Show
Ahead of I/O, Google will hold The Android Show, which will focus only on Android upgrades.The next Android 16 is likely to include a new user interface known as Material 3 Expressive, which promises a more flexible layout and interactive features.Other new features include Auracast for better Bluetooth switching, lock screen widgets, and improved accessibility options.
