Indian Railways Unveils SwaRail: New Super App to Streamline Ticket Booking, Train Inquiries, and More

Train passengers in India frequently use various applications for ticket buying, inquiry, and other railway services. However, the Ministry of Railways has now launched 'SwaRail,' a Super App aimed to combine all of these services onto a single platform. SwaRail, created by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), promises to simplify railway-related tasks with a unified, user-friendly interface.

Until now, passengers had to rely on several programs such as IRCTC Rail Connect for reserved tickets, UTS Mobile for unreserved tickets, and separate apps for parcel booking, questions, and complaints. SwaRail combines these features and eliminates the need for several downloads. Users can book reserved and unreserved tickets, check PNR status, order food and even file complaints using the Rail Madad function.

The software is now in beta testing for Android and iOS users. While the Android beta testing limit has been surpassed, Indian Railways says that SwaRail will soon be available for general download after testing is complete.

SwaRail will be available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store once it is officially published. They can connect in with their existing Rail Connect or UTS Mobile credentials and sync previous journey records. The app offers a secure login setup with MPIN protection.

SwaRail's simplified interface and integrated features guarantee a hassle-free travel experience, making train rides easier and more comfortable for travelers across India.
