Airtel Business Partners with Indian Railways to Build Advanced Multi-Layer Cybersecurity System for Complete Digital Security

Airtel, Bharti Airtel's enterprise division, secured a multi-year contract from the Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to develop and maintain an advanced cybersecurity system for Indian Railways.

As part of this, Airtel will develop and maintain a multi-layered cybersecurity system to protect Indian Railways' IT infrastructure. The project aims to provide an effective digital security framework that ensures the railway network runs safely, effectively, and without interruption. The new security system would have centralized controls for monitoring and managing threats in real time. Airtel's technology would protect Indian Railways' huge and sensitive data environment, which includes everything from passenger information and ticketing data to goods transportation and signaling operations. The goal is to deliver a cybersecurity framework that is resilient, compliant, and powered by AI, developed with sophisticated technology and Built in India solutions.

Indian Railways is one of the world's largest transportation networks, operating approximately 13,000 trains each day and serving more than 20 million people. It also transports over 1.5 billion tons of goods annually and processes millions of digital transactions. With such a large network, safeguarding it from cyber threats is critical to ensuring seamless operations and securing sensitive data such as payment information and digital identities.
