Meta Integrates WhatsApp: Effortless Single Sign-On and Status Resharing Across Facebook and Instagram
WhatsApp will integrate with Meta Accounts Centre, offering optional features like seamless status sharing across apps, single sign-on, and unified avatar management while maintaining end-to-end encryption.

WhatsApp plans to offer an optional interface with Meta's Accounts Centre, improving connectivity across Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. This integration will allow users to immediately broadcast their WhatsApp Status updates to Facebook and Instagram Stories, removing the need to post separately on each app. Furthermore, the move implements a single sign-on functionality for faster logins across Meta apps.
Meta indicated that the implementation will take place globally over the next few months, most likely in phases. Users will be able to enable this integration through WhatsApp settings or by doing actions such as resharing material across Meta platforms. Meta underlines that this functionality is fully optional, and users may choose whether or not to connect their WhatsApp accounts to the Accounts Centre.
Aside from status resharing, the integration offers other universal capabilities like managing avatars, Meta AI stickers, and "Imagine Me" creations in a single, centralized location across apps. Despite these enhancements, Meta assures users that privacy is still a priority. End-to-end encryption will continue to secure personal messages and calls on WhatsApp, making them unreadable even by Meta.
This decision is consistent with Meta's objective of building a more cohesive and user-friendly environment that provides convenience while preserving strong privacy measures.
