Meta AI Launches Global Voice Translation on Facebook and Instagram, Helping Creators Dub Videos and Reach New Audiences

Meta is introducing a new AI-powered voice translation tool that enables creators to automatically dub their videos into another language. The feature, which is currently being rolled out globally, is intended to let content creators reach larger audiences without the need for additional editing tools.

Currently, the translation works in both English and Spanish and even replicates the creator's vocal tone, making the dubbed version feel genuine and authentic. This implies that if you record a video in English, viewers can hear it in Spanish with your voice translated.

Using the feature is simple to understand. First, capture your video as usual, taking care to speak clearly and avoid background noise for the best results. The tool works with up to two people in a video, but their voices should not collide.

While sharing to Instagram or Facebook, select "Translate your voice with Meta AI." Instagram makes it available to everyone in supported regions. Creators with more than 1,000 followers on Facebook can use it. Next, select the translation language, currently only English to Spanish is provided. You can also enable lip-sync, which syncs your lip motions to the dubbed audio for a more genuine appearance.  Before sharing, you can preview the translated version and make any necessary changes. Once posted, your reel will be labelled as AI-translated.

Face-to-camera videos are great for improving lip syncing. Viewers may effortlessly switch between your original and translated voices, and creator tools display how many people have watched the translated version. You can also turn off this feature at any time.

Meta has stated that additional languages will be introduced soon, extending the feature over English and Spanish. The rollout will progressively reach all creators globally, making it easier for videos to connect with audiences from many cultures and languages. This stage demonstrates how Meta is leveraging AI to make content creation simpler, smarter, and more global.
