LinkedIn's New Top Voice Badge Update: Keeping Experts Engaged with Regular Reviews
LinkedIn has made some updates to its Top Voice badge program! Now, badges will be valid for six months, and to keep them, contributors will need to maintain consistent, high-quality engagement. This change helps ensure that the expertise recognised is truly authentic.

LinkedIn is altering its Top Voice program, introducing substantial changes to how users keep the coveted blue badge. Previously, once awarded, the Top Voice badge was kept indefinitely. Now, badges will only be valid for six months, with regular reviews by LinkedIn's editorial team. This ensures that only active, engaged, and consistent contributors retain their position.
To earn or renew the Top Voice badge, members must publish high-quality, original content, connect with the community on a consistent basis, and provide valuable insights on professional issues such as news, commentary, or industry-specific analysis. Content must also comply with LinkedIn's **Professional Community Policies*.
Previously, LinkedIn introduced gold Top Voice badges for contributions to Collaborative Articles, which were AI-generated questions where users could share their ideas. However, this automated technique resulted in a large number of badges being issued to non-experts, which LinkedIn abandoned. The new blue badge method is more selective, requiring human editorial review, much like Twitter's previous verification process.
While the improvements attempt to improve the quality of contributions, they also make it more difficult for people to acquire the Top Voice badge. To gain attention, people must regularly post relevant ideas and interact with the community. This upgrade guarantees that only knowledgeable and active professionals are featured, resulting in a more accurate portrayal of expertise.
