Tata Technologies Data Breach: Ransomware Gang Publishes Confidential Files and Employee Details
Hunters International leaked data allegedly stolen from Tata Technologies, exposing confidential files and employee details after a ransomware attack.

A ransomware group known as Hunters International has exposed some data reportedly hacked from Tata Technologies, an Indian engineering and IT services company. Tata Technologies confirmed the attack in January, and as a result, several services were temporarily suspended.
The exposed material, which was released on the gang's dark web site, included personal information about previous and current employees, as well as sensitive contracts and purchase orders. According to reports, around 730,000 documents were exposed, totaling 1.4 terabytes of data, including Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files.
Tata Technologies had stated that the incident had no effect on client services. However, it is unclear whether the leaked data is closely linked to the event reported by the corporation. Tata Technologies has yet to comment on the subject.
Tata Technologies, an arm of the Tata Group, was founded in 1989. It provides engineering and research and development services in 27 countries. It serves industries such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing and employs about 12,500 people.
Hunters International is a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) provider, which means it leases out its hacking infrastructure to cybercriminals. The group is thought to have ties to Hive ransomware, a gang that was apprehended by law law enforcement in 2023. The Hive gang previously leaked data from another Tata Group company, Tata Power in 2022.
This incident shows the increasing cybersecurity dangers that multinational organizations confront.
