Google Transitions Gemini to Dedicated iOS App for Enhanced Features and Experience
Google is moving Gemini from the main Google app to a distinct iOS app, encouraging users to download it for all of its features.

Google is officially transferring its Gemini service from the main Google app to a dedicated app for iPhones and iPad. Users are receiving email notifications to download the Gemini app from the App Store in order to continue using its full range of features.
Previously, iOS users could use Gemini within the Google app to switch between Google Search and Gemini. However, as Google added new features, such as Gemini Live, they were not incorporated into the main app. To provide a more complete experience, Google introduced the entire Gemini app in November, making it the primary way to access the AI service.
According to 9to5Google, the corporation has completely deleted Gemini from the Google app. An email to users indicates that Gemini is no longer available within the Google app, and that the standalone Gemini app is the best option moving forward.
Earlier this month, Google deleted the switcher option, although users could still access Gemini via the "More" button in Google app version v356.0. A pop-up notification now links users to the Gemini app's App Store page for download.
This move is part of Google's endeavor to streamline the Gemini experience by making all upgrades and features available through a single app.
