WhatsApp Tests ‘Remind Me’ Feature to Help Users Set Timely Alerts for Important Chat Messages
WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets users set reminders for read messages, offering preset or custom time options for follow-up alerts.

WhatsApp is testing a useful new feature called 'Remind Me', which allows users to create reminders for messages they have already read. While the app presently sends unread message reminders, this new feature has the potential to be a game changer for users who want to revisit messages but forget to respond.
The functionality is currently available in the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.25.21.14) and allows users to establish specific reminders for specific messages. To utilize it, simply tap and hold a message, then open the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and select "Remind me."
After selecting the "Remind me" option, WhatsApp presents a pop-up menu with four options for scheduling the reminder. Users can be reminded in two, eight, or twenty-four hours—these are the predefined settings. There is also a Custom option, which allows users to choose their own date and time.
When a reminder is set, WhatsApp displays a little bell icon next to the message. When the time arrives, users receive a notification with the original message content, making it simple to respond or take action.
It's vital to note that reminders are private, which means that only the person who creates them will be notified—others in the chat will not see anything. WhatsApp's new functionality makes it even more handy for personal and professional interactions.
The 'Remind Me' function is presently available to beta testers and is expected to become more common in future versions once testing is completed. This functionality might be quite useful for people who frequently read a message and forget to respond later.
