Microsoft Office, a global productivity standard, underwent a big transformation in 2022 when it was rebranded Microsoft 365 Office. Microsoft has taken a significant step by completely retiring the 'Office' the name and rebranding it as Microsoft 365 Copilot, signaling its full acceptance of the AI revolution.

According to Windows Latest, the rebranding aligns with Microsoft's concentration on artificial intelligence, with Copilot at the centre. The change is already being implemented on Windows 11 systems, delivering many interface modifications. The Copilot logo now contains the "M365" symbol, and major functionality such as Microsoft 365 and Copilot Chat have been moved to the left sidebar for a more streamlined experience. Furthermore, the search bar has been made more prominent on the main page, and the top header has been removed for a cleaner appearance.

However, the transition is not without its problems. The Microsoft Office brand, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, remains iconic and well-known. Many users continue to refer to it as 'Office,' which may impede the acceptance of the new branding. Furthermore, while Copilot exemplifies Microsoft's AI-first strategy, it has yet to achieve general acceptance among its massive user base.

The makeover highlights Microsoft's commitment to AI, but its success is dependent on user adoption and acceptance. As the corporation delves deeper into AI-driven innovation, future branding revisions may be on the way.
