WhatsApp’s Multi-Account Support: iPhone Users Could Soon Manage Two Accounts on One Device

IPhone users may soon get to enjoy a much-anticipated WhatsApp feature that has been a game changer for Android users since its release in October 2023. WhatsApp is apparently testing multi-account capability for iOS, which will allow users to manage two accounts from the same device. This means you can seamlessly move between personal and professional accounts without using a second phone or the WhatsApp Business app.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently in development and was found in iOS beta version 25.2.10.70. While not yet available for testing, its functionality is expected to be identical to the Android version. Users will most likely be able to add a second account directly through the app settings, either by creating a new account or linking an existing one using a QR code.

This upgrade is especially useful for individuals who have dual-SIM iPhones, as it simplifies the handling of several numbers. Each account will have its own chats, notifications, backups, and settings, providing proper separation and organization.

For Android users who haven't tried it yet, creating a second WhatsApp account is simple. With a backup phone number or SIM (including an eSIM), navigate to WhatsApp settings, select the "+" icon, and follow the on-screen instructions.

While iPhone users may have to wait a few months for the formal release, this step represents WhatsApp's commitment to provide consistent functionality across platforms, hence increasing convenience and efficiency for its global customers.
