Google Strengthens Ties with Poland, Investing in AI, Cybersecurity, and Tech Training

A deal has been struck between Google and Poland with the intention of enhancing the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in important industries such as cybersecurity, energy, and other vital areas. The agreement comes at a time when Poland is working to strengthen its defenses against cyberattacks and reduce its dependency on electricity from Russia.

The Chief Executive Officer of Google, Sundar Pichai, met with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, to examine the possibility of expanding Google's operations in Poland. Over two thousand people are employed by Google's engineering department in Poland, which is the largest engineering cluster in Central and Eastern Europe.

As a component of the project, Google has pledged to invest $5 million over the course of five years in digital training programs with the objective of providing about one million young Poles with the necessary technological skills.
