Amazon Expands Healthcare Reach with Rapid At-Home Diagnostics in Major Indian Cities
Amazon India enters the at-home diagnostics market with Orange Health Labs, offering fast testing services and expanding its digital healthcare footprint across six major cities.

Amazon India is making a big push into the growing at-home diagnostics market with a new partnership with Bengaluru-based startup Orange Health Labs.This development expands on Amazon's existing healthcare services, such as medicine delivery and online doctor consultations, with the goal of positioning itself as a complete medical services platform under the brand Amazon Medical.
Customers in six significant Indian cities—Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad—can now book diagnostic tests from home, have samples collected within 60 minutes, and receive results for routine tests in less than six hours.This rapid service is currently available for 450+ PIN codes.
This collaboration expands on Amazon's previous interest in Orange Health Labs, where its Smbhav Venture Fund led a $12 million investment round in December 2024.Orange Health, founded in 2020, raised over $50 million from major investors including Accel, Y Combinator, and General Catalyst.
Amazon's entry into India's $15 billion diagnostics market will put it up against established players like Tata 1mg, Apollo Diagnostics, Dr Lal Path Labs.However, Amazon's logistics and customer reach are its strong points, which could help it scale faster in this competitive space.
India's diagnostics sector is currently growing at 15% per year, owing to consumers' growing preference for fast, convenient, and digitized healthcare services, which has been increased by the pandemic. With this expansion, Amazon is not only delivering medicines but also delving deeper into the future of digital healthcare, aiming to provide speed, dependability, and a fully integrated care experience.
